Our challenge at AZ3: Shift towards the vineyard

NEW CHALLENGES FOR AZ3: Shift towards the vineyard

As wine is a living element that is constantly evolving, the winemakimng sector needs to continuously improve. Changes required by agents as diverse as markets, consumers, legal frameworks, nature or the producers' own self-demand require us to update and continually improve.

At AZ3, we are proud of being actively and effectively involved in this evolution. During our almost two decades of life, we have provided the sector with numerous innovative tools and solutions, and above all, a cross-sectional vision with a focus on the wine profile to help producers achieve their objectives.

These 18 years of experience have given us an innovative and demanding customer base that has taught us not to settle. That is why, now that we have come of age, it is time to reinvent ourselves, and to take one more step with the aim of reaching that transversality of living vitienology.

With the same enthusiasm with which we started in 2000, integrating the experience of the founders and the preparation and energy of the new generations, we embark on a new stage with a focus on the vineyard. A key strategic decision that will allow us to approach the challenges and needs of wine designers with more precision. Therefore, we are working with two top companies in viticulture: FORCE A and FRAYSSINET.

FORCE A: Measure to react.

a company specialized in intelligent agriculture, a leader in optical instrumentation applied to various types of crops, especially vines, offering intelligent tools to measure and thus be able to make decisions.

What is not measured, cannot be improved. Winegrowing activities only acquire meaning and profitability if they are based on defined objectives and precise knowledge of the state and operation of the plant. Therefore, Force A has developed a range of precision sensors to assist the winemaker with decisions to help them practice intelligent viticulture.

Firstly, we have the Bacchimeter, a tool that measures the concentration of anthocyanins in tje berry's husk.

Secondly, for measuring the nitrogen and chlorophyll content in the plant, we have the Dualex Scientific. tool.

FRAYSSINET: Smartfood for the vineyard.

A defined wine profile can only be achieved with a specific grape profile. Therefore, the vineyard nutrition must be aligned with the wine.

The Frayssinet Group, a leader in organic nutrition for soils and the natural stimulation of plants, provides us with natural solutions for precise and sustainable management of the vineyard. The century and a half of history of this family business tells us that trust is no accident.

These new alliances together with our knowledge and experience place us in a privileged position in 21st-century vitienology, with a cross-sectional, advanced and sustainable vision of the relationship between climate, land, vine and wine. We can set ourselves the following realistic goals:

  • Determine the enological potential of each plot and learn about the different styles of wine it can produce.
  • Make the potential of each soil profitable.
  • Increase nitrogen levels and aromatic precursors.
  • Avoid maturation blockages.
  • Increase color intensities.
  • Reasonable water consumption.
  • Ensure the durability of the plantation.

All this, basing decisions on reliable data obtained with the appropriate tools: Dualex, Bacchimeter, Dyostem, Xylem.

Our strategic objective is to intelligently and sustinably integrate viticulture and enology to move towards “Living Vitienology”; thus to help our customers with the challenge of achieving financial and organoleptic profitability from their vineyards and the wines they design.
